How do you start a blog. What’s the intro. Do I just jump right in?? Ok I’m mid 30s, married to a dude. We live in San Francisco. We have 2 boys, 4.5 years and 11 months. We’re both first responders and also part time military. No family nearby so it’s just us doing the most work we’ve ever done ever. Is this interesting yet? Relatable at least? Ok, let’s keep going. I wanted to start the most niche blog ever. As an exhausted mom of two with a full-time job, and a part-time job that feels way more than part-time…I am always on the hunt for a place I can bring the kids and just
Sit.
Down.
I love to get out of the house. Well actually I don’t, I’m a homebody. We’re paying a mortgage; I want to get my money’s worth! It reminds me of checking into a hotel as soon as they will allow it. I'm paying $350 a night somewhere? Get me in asap to enjoy the room.
Anyways, with kids, sometimes the days feel like a year and a half long. Being bored at the house can lead to grabbing things that aren't toys, trying to figure out which outlet is uncovered, ooh what could I stick in that outlet?? So even at home sometimes you cannot just
Sit.
Down.
I saw a reddit thread recently where people were asking for San Francisco recs for a good spot to sit down with a cup of coffee while their kids play. Some comments were helpful; some comments were like, just grab a coffee and go to any playground. WOW I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT. That's not what we need. We need fenced-in. We need no mulch. I'd prefer no sand. How's the parking? Are there bathrooms?
I'm happy to finally get this project started. Project Sit Down. Of course I will also share things like, best park to workout in with kids, best matcha latte in San Francisco, best spot to get takeout pizza that also has decent parking so you're not walking a mile and a half back to your car with a box of pizza, a baby on your hip and a 4 year old hanging onto your pants so you know they aren't running into traffic (where are my anxiety girlies at!?)
Let's get sitting. Talk soon friends!
